On July 18, 2024, the closing ceremony of the Cyber Defenders reintegration program took place. The program was organized by the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, and CRDF Global in Ukraine, with the support of the U.S. Department of State.

Cyber Defenders is a professional development and reintegration program in cybersecurity for veterans.

This year’s program concluded with a CTF competition, in which participants solved practical tasks based on real cyber incidents, followed by a panel discussion.

Among the speakers at the panel discussion, titled “Career Prospects in Cybersecurity: Challenges and New Horizons,” was Serhii Denysenko, CEO of CyberLab. He pointed out that cybersecurity specialists are in demand in both the public sector and business, with such professionals increasingly being engaged in agriculture, industry, and other fields. He also emphasized that programs like the one completed by this year’s participants should be continued and expanded by involving more lecturers and students.

The event ended with an awards ceremony for the participants.

We are confident that initiatives like this have a positive impact on the development of our country’s cybersecurity capabilities.
