On October 16-17, 2023, the two-day INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS 2.0 cybersecurity competition took place. Its goal was to raise the qualifications of cybersecurity specialists and improve their professional skills through tasks as close as possible to real incidents. The event was organized by the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, with support from the U.S. Department of State and CRDF Global in Ukraine.
INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS combined a cybersecurity competition with training sessions on cyber operations, cyber incident response and computer forensics.
The technology partners were Cyber Unit Technologies and CyberLab, leading companies in the cybersecurity field. In total, the event brought together more than a hundred specialists from the public sector.
Over two days, participants worked in teams, applying and improving their knowledge and skills. They learned to collaborate within a team and to use new approaches and solutions aimed at effective cyber incident response.
INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS also featured a series of training sessions where specialists, including our colleagues Hryhorii Bendovskyi and Mykola Serhiienko, shared their own experience and best practices.
The CyberLab specialists’ session focused on case studies from the previous INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS. They demonstrated solution methods and gave teams feedback, which helped participants work through the tasks they had been set.
The training topics covered cyber incident response, types of vulnerabilities, computer forensics and the latest cybersecurity trends in artificial intelligence.
Once again, the tasks at INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS 2.0 were carried out on the Ukrainian cyber range Unit Range, developed by Cyber Unit Technologies.
INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS 2023 2.0 is an important event for the community connected with cybersecurity in the IT industry. Events like this give specialists a chance to improve the skills needed for fast and effective cyber incident response.
