On June 12-13, 2023, a two-day cyber security competition, ‘INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS 2023,’ took place with the aim of enhancing the qualifications and practical skills of cybersecurity professionals. The event was organized by the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center (NCCC) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), with support from the U.S. Department of State and the Development and Research Fund (CRDFGlobal).
Leading companies in the field of cybersecurity, Cyber Unit Technologies and CyberLab, partnered with the event. The forum brought together over a hundred experts from the government sector.
During the two-day competition, participants in the cybersecurity challenge worked in teams, applying their knowledge and skills to learn innovative strategies and solutions aimed at ensuring effective response to cyber incidents.
The event included a series of lectures where experts shared their experiences and best practices in responding to cyber incidents.
For the first time during ‘INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS 2023,’ a Ukrainian cyber range developed by Cyber Unit Technologies was used. Working on tasks for six hours, specialists practiced a wide range of situations, including cyberattacks, system failures, network and network equipment operations, searching for processes related to malicious software, and digital trace analysis. To address the challenges, participants used advanced technologies and tools such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics software, and other innovative software.
In his speech, Valentin Kucheruk, Director of CyberLab, emphasized the importance of improving professional skills, especially in the field of responding to cyber incidents. “Thanks to events like today’s, we have the opportunity to share valuable experience and talk about specialized software that is an integral part of cybersecurity.”
Teams of participants gained new experience, honed their skills, and were rewarded based on the quality and speed of solving the tasks.
‘INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS 2023’ became a significant event for the cybersecurity community in the IT industry, helping to improve the skills necessary for a rapid and effective response to cyber incidents.
