On March 18, a closed meeting was held with Oleksandr Potii, Head of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine. CyberLab’s Director, Valentyn Kucheruk, took part in the event. Participants discussed strategic cybersecurity priorities for 2025 and ways to strengthen international cooperation.
During the meeting with representatives of the IT Ukraine Association, Oleksandr Potii emphasized the agency’s readiness to transition from the current Comprehensive Information Security System (CISS) to a declaration-based approach for compliance of information protection systems in ICT environments, using security profiles as a foundation.
Key priorities of the State Service for 2025 include:
-
Development of Cybersecurity Infrastructure:
Ukrainian IT companies will be involved in establishing CSIRTs (Cybersecurity Incident Response Teams) and specialized cybersecurity centers. This opens new business opportunities for implementing threat monitoring, security auditing, and critical infrastructure protection technologies. -
Formation of a Professional Cybersecurity Labor Market:
Expanding the national job classification by 40 new cybersecurity specialties and introducing certification standards will enable Ukrainian companies to train skilled professionals and grow their cybersecurity services export. IT outsourcing firms will benefit from increased demand for training, consulting, and security services for international clients. -
Advancement of Cyber Monitoring Systems:
Ukrainian companies will contribute to the development and implementation of advanced threat monitoring systems, which will allow for rapid detection and mitigation of cyberattacks. This will foster growth in the cybersecurity outsourcing sector, especially in the development of analytics platforms and AI-based security solutions.
