On October 16–17, 2023, a two-day cybersecurity competition called INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS 2.0 took place. The primary objectives of this event were to enhance the qualifications of professionals in the field of cybersecurity and improve their professional skills through tasks closely resembling real-world incidents. The event was organized by the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine with the support of the U.S. Department of State and CRDF Global in Ukraine.
INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS combined cybersecurity competitions and training in cyber operations, incident response, and computer forensics. Technological partners for the event included leading cybersecurity companies Cyber Unit Technologies and CyberLab. In total, the event brought together over a hundred specialized experts from the public sector.
Over the course of two days, participants worked in teams, applying and refining their knowledge and skills. They learned to collaborate within their teams and implement new approaches and solutions aimed at ensuring effective responses to cyber incidents.
INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS also featured a series of training sessions during which experts, including our colleagues Grigoriy Bendovskiy and Mykola Sergienko, shared their own experiences and best practices. CyberLab experts focused on analyzing cases from previous INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS, demonstrating problem-solving methods, and providing feedback to the teams, which helped participants understand the challenges they faced.
The training topics at the event covered incident response, vulnerability types, computer forensics, and the latest trends in cybersecurity in the field of artificial intelligence.
Once again, the Ukrainian cyber range, Unit Range, developed by Cyber Unit Technologies, was utilized for tasks during INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS 2.0.
INCIDENT RESPONSE DAYS 2023 2.0 is a significant event for the cybersecurity community within the IT industry. Thanks to such events, professionals have the opportunity to improve the skills necessary for quick and effective responses to cyber incidents.
