The Kyiv International Cyber Resilience Forum 2024 took place on February 7-8, 2024, in Kyiv. The event was organized by the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and CRDF Global in Ukraine, with support from the U.S. Department of State. The technological partners of the event included Cyber Unit Technologies and the Institute of Cyber Warfare Research.
The forum was inaugurated by Oleksii Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
The forum brought together cybersecurity professionals and covered a range of topics, from discussions on the first global cyberwar and Ukraine’s experience to dialogues with both the public and private sectors on improving national cybersecurity.
The event featured 10 panel discussions and over 35 expert presentations, including topics such as:
- The role of cybersecurity in modern warfare: Ukraine’s experience in cyberwarfare
- Cyberwarfare and international law
- Cyber diplomacy
- Enhancing national cybersecurity resilience through education and capability-building
- Realities of cyberwarfare: Experience in investigating cyberattacks in 2023
- Regional cybersecurity, and more
Valentyn Kucheriuk, Director of CyberLab, participated in the panel discussion titled “MESSENGERS: CONVENIENCE VS SECURITY,” addressing the security aspects of using messengers during cyberwar due to their active use for information exchange.
Additionally, the two-day forum included Capture the Flag cybersecurity competitions, with 21 teams participating. By the end of the second day, the organizers and judges announced three winning teams.
The Kyiv International Cyber Resilience Forum 2024 provided a powerful platform for discussing challenges and sharing experiences, contributing to the development of effective strategies for detecting and responding to cyber incidents and enhancing the cyber resilience of Ukraine and the democratic world.
